The Jackson Fire Department is staffed by three full-time personnel during normal business hours. The remainder of the fire/rescue staffing is performed by community members that respond from their homes and places of business when paged for an emergency as Paid-on-Call members.
The total staffing of the Department is 48 members, but there are normally a number of openings. Community members are encouraged to apply for open positions. Please visit the department during business hours to pick up an application, or go to our on-line APPLICATION for further information. There is no need for previous Fire Department or Emergency Medical Technician experience; however, a high school diploma and a residence within three miles of the station are necessary to be considered.
